SINGOLYMPICS 08 - SFC Ablaze!

-- Davao Central School Gym, Davao City. Around 400 registered SFC members coming from all clusters of Davao City gathered together for the annual SINGOLYMPICS. (SFC Olympics/Sportsfests)
With the theme SFC Ablaze (taken from the upcoming Regional Conference theme), the activity actually started 2 nights ago (Friday, July 25) with a bowling competition.
Sunday, July 27 was the actual start of the 1 day sportsfests. It started with the celebration of the Holy Eucharist, followed by the Opening Ceremonies.
With the "olympic theme" playing in the background, the parade of colors was held starting with the men and women in WHITE (The SFCDAVAO Program Heads and Elders). It was followed by the GREEN Team, the North Cluster headed by Kuya Arnold and Ate Patis Aldeano (North Cluster Heads). It was immediately followed by the PINK Team, the South Cluster headed by Kuya Maui and Ate Hazel Carreon. Then last but not the least, the BLUE Team headed by Kuya Art and Ate Jenny Famador.
Kuya Mike Calimbas, SFC Davao Provincial Coordinator, was then introduced by our emcees Mark Espina and Joy Lomantas to give the Opening Remarks and official opening of the games.
Immediately, the Torch Bearers (with representatives from the 3 Clusters) held a ceremonial run around the venue, ending with the OATH of Sportsmanship. Games was then started and held simultaneously.
After the lunch break, the Creative Competitions was conducted. It showcased the different talents of our SFC brothers in sisters in the Bounce (Dance) and Pop-Idol (Singing) competitions. Sports competitions continued.
When all the games were done, around 4pm, was the Praise and Fashion competition. It showcased the winning T-Shirt design, "jazzed-up" and "ramped" by our beautiful and handsome brothers and sisters.
Kuya Maui Carreon, gave a pep-talk after, inviting and exciting everyone for the upcoming "SFC Ablaze" Regional Conference in Tagum, Davao del Norte on September.
Praisefest then capped the event given by yours truly. Winners were announced and awards were given after.
Truly it was a fun and exciting event were everyone went home as winners.
