Anne
Gawad Kalinga volunteers are heroes
CALLING all SFCs and FRIENDS of SFCs

I would like to ask help to those who are interested to be a SAGIP or SIGA FACILITATOR.

There are a number of GK sites who needs available and committed Ate`s and Kuya`s (as what SAGIP and SIGA would call us) to update the profile, give workshops, facilitate their weekly activity, tutor them and follow through their development in school, family, spiritual and social life.

Any of the above can do because your help can go a long way. Even an hour of your day can make a difference in a child`s life.

If you need help for...

(1) trainings ( facilitator`s training or heart for the kid`s training)
(2) GK Orientation for non-SFC volunteers, or new members
(3) contact persons in the GK area
(4) Site visits or observation
(5) or anything about Gawad Kalinga

You may contact us at the GK Office 297 5507 or text us at 09228982163.

Every GK volunteer is a hero and will always be a privilege to serve God through His people.

There will be a SAGIP FACILITATOR`s Training and SAGIP Activity after.

Peter
IN NEED OF NOTHING MORE

In the OLD TESTAMENT, We read about ELKANA who had two wives (I Samuel 1: 1-8). One wife was Penena, who had two children, and Ana, the favorite of ELKANA. She had no children. beacause of her jealousy. Penena would often make fun of Ana, ELKANA"s favorite, Because Ana had no children while Penena had two children.

When Ana was teased by Penena, she would often cry and she wouldn`t eat. When this happened. ELKANA would go to Ana and try to consol her, saying. "Ana, why are you crying and not eating? Why are you so upset? Am I not more precious for you than 10 children? You have no children, Ana, but you have me. Am I not enough for you?"

whenever ELKANA would say this to Ana she wqould stop crying and start eating. She only needed that reminder that she was precious to ELKANA and that he was precious to her. even more precious than if she had ten children.

IN NEED OF NOTHING MORE (cont.)

Wouldn`t be nice if we too had someone who was more precious to us than ten children? Wouldn`t be nice if we had someone who could answer all our needs for love and companionship as Ana had ELKANA?

But we so have someone like this. In the Gospel (john 6:24-35), Jesus tell us that he can answer all our needs. he tells us that when we have him we have enough, and more than enough, when we say, "No one comes to me will ever hungry, no one who believes in me will ever thirst again."

For Ana having ELKANA, she was in need of nothing more. So, likewise, the Christian, having JESUS, is in need of nothing more. We will never have a spiritual hunger. We will never have a spiritual

Peter
with SPECIAL FAITH (",)
In the Gospel (MArk 5:21-43), we heard about jesus` walk with a large crowd following, pushing against jesus." Many people were at Jesus` back and sides. Many people were pulling at his sleeves for his attention.
Then suddenly, Jesus stopped and said, "Who touched me?
All of us believe in jesus. is there anyone of us who has a SPECIAL FAITH in Jesus? Many of us hear the priest say " Let us Pray." but do any of us listen with special faith to what the priest says?
Many of us respond to the Psalm, but does any one of us respond with special faith, or do we respond with evry ordinary faith? Do we really listen? Or do we just go through the motion of listening?
A few years ago, a priest in Germany said, "let us pray." at the beginning of the mass. Then he read a " help wanted ad" from the daily newspaper.
Nobody noticed it! Nobody complained or commented on what he had read during the prayer! Why? Because nobody was listening with a special faith

pls pray for sis jacqueline lou ponce of west a1a
My dear brothers and sisters,

We need your prayers for Sis. Jacqueline Lou Ponce, one of our active members in WEST A1A Chapter. She`s diagnosed with rheumatic heart disease and because of this the opening of the 2 veins of her heart are nearly closed. According to the doctor she needs to undergo a heart procedure immediately. If the said procedure will not be done urgently, she might experience stroke or she might die, and sad to say she`s only 29.The doctor told her to prepare 250 Thousand Pesos for the operation. Her family and relatives don`t have the means to raise that big amount in a short span of time. Brothers and sisters in Christ, as one family we are seeking your help through prayers, and if you can extend some other form of help we are glad to have them. Thanks in advance my dear brothers and sisters. May our Almighty Father always bless you with His riches in heaven. In all things let us glorify God!!!
